19 August, 2017 - Seven-member universities of the Southeast Asian University Consortium (UC) for Graduate Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources converged at Kasetsart University (KU) on 17 – 18 August 2017 for the 3rd UC Graduate Forum with the theme, "Combating Food and Energy Insecurity and Climate Change through Sustainable and Inclusive Agricultural Technologies and Innovations." The Forum was opened by Dr. Chongrak Wachrinrat, KU President, after a message given by Dr. Gil C. Saguiguit, Jr., SEARCA Director. Dr. Chantavit Sujatanond, Director of SEAMEO Regional Center for Higher Education and Development (RIHED), delivered the keynote speech, while Dr. Buncha Chinnasri, Assistant to the KU President, served as host to the whole event.

 

 

A total of 31 graduate students presented their respective research papers on the parallel sessions. One of selected PhD student, under ITAFoS, Mrs. Raihana Ridzuan also presenting her research paper entitled 'Yield performance, capsaicinoids content and anthracnose disease assessment of selected chili pepper genotypes for varietal development'.

 

 

The UCGF aims to provide an opportunity for graduate students from UC members to share new knowledge, research ideas, and experiences in an open platform; offer academic training and develop the next generations of scholars; encourage trans-disciplinary studies and promote greater integration of research through strategic partnership among the UC members; and strengthen the relationship between and among the UC members.
