LRGS Colloquium - Enhancing the competitiveness and suistainability of the poult


Port Dickson, 1 February - Institute of Tropical Agriculture (ITA) had organized Long-term Research Grant Scheme Colloquium (LRGS Colloquium) entitled ''Enhancing the competitiveness and suistainability of the poultry industry through improved feedstock'.

Located in Klana Beach Resort, Port Dickson, started from 30 January 2015 for three today, this colloquium aimed is to assess achievement every LRGS project sub and student achievement standard in related projects. Involvement of the industry in this colloquium had given the opportunity to ITA to discuss and consequently get feedback on this research impact to poultri industry in Malaysia. Also attending in this colloquium is ITA's Director, Prof. Dr. Zulkifli Idrus, who is also Program Chief for LRGS Project. 5 representatives from industry involved in this programme, among them were Dr. Ahmad Mujahid from Sumitomo Chemical Enviro-Agro, Senawang, Negeri Sembilan; Dr. Richard Chong from Anitox Company, Klang Port; Dato' Dr. Vincent Ng from Agro Resources Worldwide Sdn. Bhd., Klang; Dr. Tan Chee Kiang from Chareon Pokhpand Malaysia, Port Klang; and Mr. Steven Goh from Delst Asia Delst Sdn. Bhd., Port Klang.

 

24 students, 3 doctor post and 15 researchers have joined in this colloquium.

LRGS is long-term Grant Scheme granted from Minister of Higher Education Malaysia to conduct high impact research and bring good benefit to our country. ITA had received two LRGS grants, the other grant is Food Security specifically on rice crop.
