Serdang, 14 Mac - Ten officers from Malaysian Pepper Board (MPB) have take part in visits to UPM Transgenic Greenhouse today. Visiti delegation led by MPB's Deputy Director, Mr. Philip Gaweng and escorted by representative from Sarawak Public Work Department. According to Mr. Philip, this visit aiming to get information on design idea and basic fasilities in Transgenic Greenhouse. MPB choose UPM Transgenic Greenhouse because the Greenhouse is fulfil the specification and international standard.



The visiting program started with introduction speech by the Institute of Tropical Agriculture's Director, Prof. Dr. Zulkifli Idrus and followed by slide presentation about UPM Transgenic Greenhouse introducton by Prof. Datin Dr. Siti Nor Akmar Abdullah. Then the visitors were brought to visit around Transgenic Greenhouse while being explaination by Agriculture Officer, Mr. Mohd Kamarulzaman Ismail.

MPB is a federal statutory body under the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities of Malaysia, established on 1st January 2007. The board is responsible for the development of the Malaysian Pepper Industry in areas of production, marketing and research.
