Public Lecture 1/2017: ‘Mycotoxins, Food Security and Climate Change: Do we know enough?’

January 17, 2017, Serdang – Public Lecture 1/2017 entitled ‘Mycotoxins, Food Security and Climate Change: Do we know enough?’ has been held on 17th January 2017 at Mini Auditorium, Deputy Vice Chancellor Research and Innovation’s Office Building (White House), Universiti Putra Malaysia. Laboratory of Food Safety and Food Integrity (FOSFI), Institute of Tropical Agriculture and Food Security (ITAFoS) has invited Prof. Dr. Naresh Magan from Cranfield Soil and Agrifood Institute, Cranfield University, United Kingdom as a speaker. He has delivered his talk regarding the impact of climate change on crop damage, disease, and mycotoxin contamination which affect the food supply, quality and sustainability worldwide. This talk highlighted the current trend and direction of mycotoxin research in food safety and security. The impacts of climate change on fungal phytopathogen proliferation were also discussed.
