Serdang, 10 September – Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation) (TNCPI) Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Prof. Dr. Mohd Azmi bin Mohd Lila has introduced Putra Global 200 to ITA researchers, yesterday. Talked in TNCPI Interaction Session with ITA Researchers Programme, he hoped that all researchers in UPM can realize Putra Global 200 to make UPM under 200 top world universities ranking in 2020.  Putra Global 200 is one of UPM initiative to increase UPM achievement in ensuring UPM still remains as a leader Research University in the world.

As TNCPI, he that responsible in research development, innovation and commercialisation research products in UPM also suggested several initiatives that will be done by UPM in Putra Global 200. Among them are to generate a lot of research grant, research mobility through bridging-programme, research incentives, and research talent development.



Recently, QS World Ranking University showed five Malaysian Universities listed in 400 ranking in the world, lead by Universiti Malaya (ranking 151), followed by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (259), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (294), Universiti Sains Malaysia (309), and Universiti Putra Malaysia (376).  All universities ranking are greater than last year ranking.

All universities were evaluated based on six QS World Ranking criteria which are academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty student ratio, citation per faculty, international faculty and international students.
