Serdang, 21 August - A total of five staffs of Institute of Tropical Agriculture (ITA) have been given recognition of Excellency Service Award 2012 at the 'Majlis Putra Gemilang 2013' held at Pusat Kesenian dan Kebudayaan Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (PKKSAAS) today. They are:

1. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Rafii Yusop (Head of Laboratory of Food Crops)
2. Mr. Wan Zaharuddin Wan Abdullah (former Assistant Registrar of ITA)
3. Mr. Zainudin Mohd Ali (Assistant Science Officer)
4. Ms. Nor Shuhada Mohamad (Admin Assistant)
5. Ms. Intan Suraya Abu Bakar (Admin Assistan)

In addition, there are three staff of ITA had been awarded with Jasa Putra and Setia Putra awards as an appreciation of their efforts during their tenure at the university. There are Prof. Dr. Mohamed Hanafi Musa (Bakti Putra Award), Haji Zahardin Zulkifli (Jasa Putra Award), and Mrs. Nor Rafidah Mohd Yusoff (Bakti Putra Award).

Five of ITA's Research Associates also have been awarded the Excellency Service Award through their respective faculties. They are:

1. Prof. Dr.  Jinap Selamat
2. Prof. Dr. Abdul Shukor Juraimi
3. Prof. Dr. Loh Teck Chwen
4. Prof. Madya Dr. Maheran Abd Aziz
5. Prof. Madya Dr. Parameswari a/p Namasivayam

Awards and certificates of appreciation were presented by the Vice-Chancellor of UPM, Prof. Datuk Dr. Fauzi Hj. Ramlan.
