Serdang, 10 June - MS ISO/IEC 17025 Accreditation Committee at the Institute of Tropical Agriculture has undergone Internal Audit in the process to obtain the accreditation. The Opening Briefing was delivered by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Hanafi Musa as the Quality Manager who is also the Coordinator of ICPMS facility in ITA. The internal auditor team consists of Mrs. Norlinawati Abd. Halim (as the team leader) from Faculty of Food Science and Technology and Mrs. Siti Munira Abdul Razak from Halal Research Institute, UPM.

The scope of testing offered at ITA is chemical testing and the first test method registered was Determination of Methylmercury in Fish and Fish Products by LC-ICPMS. MS ISO/IEC 17025 organisation at ITA has surpassed the Adequacy Audit carried out in January by an Auditor from the Department of Standards Malaysia (DSM).
