1. To enhance the multi-disiplinary research activities in selected focus areas through cutting edge and knowledge intensive research taking into account the high value chain aspects.
2. To carry out research based on problem-solving for income generation and wealth creation.
3. To be a national and internationally recognized research center of excellence in new Tropical Agriculture and Food Security.
4. To offer postgraduate training programs for the advancement of human capital.
