28 - 29 October 2024 - The Second Series of the Kenaf-Based Animal Feed Formulation and Manufacturing course was held with the same number of participants, 30 people. The participants this time consisted of kenaf entrepreneurs, breeders and staff of the National Kenaf and Tobacco Board (LKTN). This series of courses has the same purpose to give exposure to participants and improve skills in the use of kenaf to be used as silage as an alternative feed for ruminant animals.

This course is organized theoretically and practically with animal nutrition expert, Associate Prof. Dr. Hasliza Abu Hassim and ITAFoS Agriculture Officer, Mr. Eddy Shahriza Jamein. The participants were given talks related to feeding ruminant livestock, nutrition and alternative food production from agricultural waste. They were also exposed to the real techniques of producing quality and safe silage for their livestock. This opportunity is used by participants as best as possible in obtaining advice, insights and expert referrals in their daily activities.

At the end of the course, participants were taken to visit the facilities at the Animal Research Center. The Closing Ceremony of this course was also completed by the Head of the Laboratory of Sustainable Animal Production and Biodiversity, Dr. Mamat Hamidi Kamalludin. Hopefully this sharing of knowledge will benefit all course participants.
