SERDANG, 23 July – The Committee for Laboratory of Accreditation, Institute of Tropical Agriculture and Food Security (ITAFoS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), in collaboration with the company IKA Works (Asia) Sdn. Bhd. (IKA) has organized the “Training of Bomb Calorimeter Equipment Handling” program on 23 July 2025. This program, lasting almost three hours, was held at the Unit of Energy Measurement, Laboratory of Animal Production, ITAFoS, and was conducted by Ms. Choon Si Lin, Sales Executive at IKA, who served as the moderator. The program sharing was presented by Mr. Daud Azri Bin Adzman, Calorimeter Product Specialist at IKA, who has over 10 years of experience in the technical field of Calorimeter equipment.

Among the contents of this program are the basics and applications of Bomb Calorimeter equipment as well as preventive maintenance training for Bomb Calorimeter. A total of 16 participants consisting of members of the Committee for Laboratory of Accreditation, Unit of Energy Measurement, ITAFoS, staff from the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Engineering participated in this program. Overall, this program is seen to have achieved its organizing objective, which is to strengthen the participants' understanding of the basics and applications of Bomb Calorimeter equipment as well as proper equipment maintenance methods. Based on the feedback received, most participants were very satisfied with this program. All attendees obtained Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits.
