
On May 19, 2026, the 2026 Intellectual Property Protection Application Workshop was held at the ITAFoS Meeting Room. The workshop organized by the Sustainable Animal Production and Biodiversity Laboratory involved 20 participants consisting of ITAFoS students and researchers.
The objectives of organizing this workshop were to:
i. provide exposure to the correct and complete application for intellectual property protection
ii. improve understanding of the preparation of materials and documents related to applications.
iii. improve participants' understanding of types of intellectual property such as patents, copyrights, trademarks and industrial designs.

This talk was delivered by Mrs. Fadzlin Afiqah A.Samad, a graduate student, from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, who is directly involved in the Intellectual Property application process.
Overall, this workshop successfully provided exposure and guidance to participants regarding the intellectual property application process and its importance. Through this workshop also, participants also gained practical knowledge regarding more effective management strategies and protection of intellectual assets.
