7 January 2026 - A discussion session was held at the Meeting Room, Institute of Tropical Agriculture and Food Security with the Director of Penya Era Company, Datuk Dr. Abd. Aziz Jamaluddin, regarding the issue of ruminant animal nutrition. The discussion, which lasted for two hours, involved the Director and Deputy Director of ITAFoS and was also attended by two Heads of Laboratory.

The initial focus of the discussion was on the increasing cost of animal feed production which is increasingly burdening the livestock industry, in addition to the need to explore and develop more sustainable alternative food sources to help farmers, especially in Malaysia. As a result of the discussion, both parties reached an agreement to continue further discussions and establish strategic cooperation in the implementation of the project to develop alternative food sources for ruminant livestock.
