Serdang, 27 August 2025- The Food Safety and Food Integrity Laboratory (FoSFI), under the Institute of Tropical Agriculture and Food Security (ITAFoS), successfully organized a two-day workshop entitled "FoSFI Journal Writing Workshop 2025" on 26 and 27 August 2025.

The main objective of this workshop was to provide exposure and guidance to participants, particularly postgraduate students, on how to prepare a quality manuscript. The workshop also included face-to-face supervision sessions with supervisors or co-supervisors involved, as well as guidance on selecting suitable journals according to the manuscript topic.

Through this Journal Writing Workshop, participants had the opportunity to prepare quality manuscripts with guidance from their respective supervisors. They were also encouraged to submit their manuscripts to suitable journals either during or after the workshop sessions. In addition, the workshop featured a sharing session on effective journal writing by an invited speaker, aimed at providing guidance and motivation to participants in strengthening their academic writing skills.

During the workshop, Dr. Nuzul Noorahya Jambari, a Senior Lecturer from the Faculty of Food Science and Technology and also an Associate Researcher at ITAFoS, shared valuable tips with the students through a session entitled "The Dos and Don'ts in Publishing Your Research Findings."

The workshop involved all students under the supervision of FoSFI associate researchers, as well as other associate researchers and research officers. A total of 34 participants attended the writing workshop, where an estimated 28 manuscript drafts were successfully produced.
