On 9 February 2026, a community networking program titled “Hydroponic Plant Knowledge Transfer Workshop” was held at the Community Activity Centre, Kg. Rinching Hulu, Semenyih which started at 8.30 am. This program is the second phase, an extension of the KTGS@ITAFoS Grant titled “Herbal Plant Knowledge Transfer Project for Economic Improvement Through Herbs in the Kampung Rinching Hulu Community” which was led by Dr. Nur Sumirah Mohd Dom from FOSFI. A total of 40 participants were involved in this program. This program combined theoretical lectures delivered by speaker Tuan Mohd Zaidan Zahari from MARA Beranang Professional College and hydroponics practice by En. Azmir Ismail, Mr. Hidrofonik Entrepreneur. This program went smoothly without any problems and ended at 1.00 pm.
In this program, participants had the opportunity to learn techniques for installing a hydroponic system, preparing nutrients, sowing seeds and caring for plants practically. They also received live demonstrations and basic materials to practice at home, helping to reduce food costs and potential additional income through quality green vegetable crops. Overall, these skills empower the community in modern landless agriculture, in line with UPM's knowledge transfer goals.
