7 May 2026 – The Institute of Tropical Agriculture and Food Security (ITAFoS) organised the Internal Audit Course on Quality Management System (QMS) ISO 9001:2015 from 6 to 7 May 2026 at the ITAFoS Meeting Room. The course was conducted by Mr. Allan Lajot from the Faculty of Agriculture UPM and attended by 16 existing and newly appointed internal auditors.

The course aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge, understanding, and skills in conducting internal audits effectively in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standard. In addition, the programme served as a refresher session for existing auditors while fostering competent and high-integrity internal auditors. The course was also organised in preparation for the QMS Internal Audit scheduled to be held on 13 to 14 May 2026.

Throughout the course, participants were exposed to auditing techniques, methods for documenting audit findings in audit note forms, as well as approaches for determining clauses related to Non-Conformities (NC) and Opportunities for Improvement (OFI). The speaker’s clear and engaging delivery further enhanced participants’ understanding of audit procedures and practices. Participants also recommended that similar courses be organised regularly as refresher programmes to further strengthen the competency of internal auditors.
