SERDANG, 3 December 2025 – The Institut Pertanian Tropika dan Sekuriti Makanan (ITAFoS), Universiti Putra Malaysia, held the ITAFoS Staff Appreciation Ceremony 2025 as a gesture of gratitude toward all staff for their commitment, dedication and outstanding achievements throughout 2025. The event took place at Astana Putra, UPM Serdang at 12:00 noon.

The ceremony began with a welcoming address from the chairperson, followed by a recitation of prayers. Next, Prof. Dr. Anjas Asmara Samsudin, Director of ITAFoS, delivered the official address, emphasising the importance of fostering a positive, innovative, and integrity-driven work culture to strengthen the institute’s excellence.

The event continued with the presentation of the EKSA 2025/2026 Awards, in recognition of the best zones and workspaces for systematic workplace management. Among the award recipients were:

As a token of appreciation and to foster a family-like spirit, the ceremony also included a symbolic birthday celebration slot, honouring staff who celebrated birthdays from January through December this year. The atmosphere was cheerful and friendly as staff were celebrated together with colleagues in a relaxed and joyous setting.

The ceremony also featured a special moment through the “Jasamu Dikenang” (Your Service Remembered) segment: honouring Dr. Suriya Kumari Ramiah, as a tribute to her significant contributions during her service at ITAFoS. A commemorative gift was presented as a sign of appreciation for her dedication in advancing the institute.

The event concluded with a meet-and-greet session, providing an opportunity for ITAFoS members to enhance camaraderie and strengthen the bonds among academic staff, researchers, and administrative personnel.

The organisation of this Appreciation Ceremony reflects ITAFoS’s commitment to cultivating a culture of recognition and building a harmonious and productive working environment.
