24 – 25 February 2025 – Institute of Tropical Agriculture and Food Security (ITAFoS), UPM has organized Kenaf-Based Livestock Feed Formulation and Manufacturing Course Series 3 in collaboration with the National Kenaf and Tobacco Board (LKTN). This third course was attended by a total of 40 participants consisting of kenaf entrepreneurs and LKTN officer from all over Malaysia. The main purpose of organizing this course is to increase the knowledge of kenaf production regarding ruminant nutrition, preparation and production of alternative feed for ruminant livestock. They were also exposed to the real techniques of producing quality and safe kenaf silage for their livestock. The participants had the opportunity to prepare silage themselves in a practical series that was held on the second day of the course and have improved their understanding of silage preparation indirectly.

Knowledge sharing from agricultural experts, Dr. Mohd. Nazri Md. Nayan and Mr. Eddy Shahriza Jamein, has received positive feedback from participants. It is hoped that by sharing the knowledge of this expertise, it can help kenaf entrepreneurs in increasing their income and advancing their business.
