Webinar Qurban dan Keselamatan Makanan

The Sustainable Animal Production and Biodiversity Laboratory with food safety and food integrity laboratory, ITAFoS has organised a Webinar entitled: "Qurban and Food Safety" on 15 July 2021.The seminar was held in conjunction with the Eid Ul-Adha celebration 2021.Three speakers were invited to present topics related to the assurance of food safety in sacrificial worship. The speakers were Dr. Mohammad Razli Abd Razak, Director of Veterinary Regulatory Division, Department of Veterinary Services, Putrajaya; Prof.Dr. Awis Qurni Sazili, Deputy Directing Director of the Institute of Tropical Agriculture and Food Security, UPM and Dr. Noor Azira Abdul Mutalib, Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Food Science and Biotechnology, UPM.The purpose of this webinar was to share information and knowledge on issues related to sacrificial worship such as the selection of livestock, slaughtering and storage of sacrificial meat. A total of 463 participants comprising of UPM staff, government agencies such as the veterinary department, MARDI and the public attended the programme. This program would give a chance for the community, particularly UPM personnel, to learn about the importance of food safety in sacrificial worship.
